A third party software fo iPod shuffle 2G

Maybe a little old information. Here's some information from the writer:

 

This little program enables iPod shuffle users to finally get rid of all that iTunes or other complicated playlist management stuff. Due to the simple structure of the shuffle (compared to the »big« iPods), it is possible to use the player almost like any other USB flash MP3 player: You simply copy MP3 files onto it. You only need to run the Database Builder program after you added or removed files from the iPod. This approach hasnumerous benefits:

• You don't need iTunes, ml_ipod or GNUpod anymore. Simply copy some MP3 files into the iPod volume and start this teensy 8k program.
• You aren't restricted to store your music in the /iPod_Control/Music subdirectory. Build your own directory and filename structure. Your iPod, your rules!
• You may use the iPod on as many computers as you want.
• The actual iTunes database is left untouched, your iPod should still work with iTunes, if you like. (Note that this wasn't true for me; my iTunes installation now refuses any co-operation with my iPod. But I'm pretty sure that this is due to my experimentation with the iTunes database, and not a side-effect of using the Database Builder.)
• If you do not use the iPod_Control folder for your music, iTunes will not delete your files again without asking.
• The Database Builder uses a quite sophisticated shuffle algorithm (»smart shuffle«) that arranges your tracks in a more uniform way.

 

  Certainly it can be used on shuffle 1G. I have changed a little to this software. Because it cannot support Chinese character, so I use the rename function as default. And the function is now working like this: rename the special characters to a random upper English character. If you have some folders using a special character as name, I suggest u to use this software under command line, fro example: x:\rebuild_db.exe x:\my music, x is the disk symbol of your shuffle. x:\my music is where you put the mp3 files.

  Unzip and copy all the files to shuffle's root. This if for windows, html is from the author's page. py file is the source. It's a python program. I changed it and use py2exe to build a windows exe file. Other files are required to run the exe.

  Here is some information from help:

 

Usage: rebuild_db.exe [OPTION]... [DIRECTORY]...
Rebuild iPod shuffle database.

Mandatory arguments to long options are mandatory for short options too.
  -h, --help         display this help text
  -i, --interactive  prompt before browsing each directory
  -v, --volume=VOL   set playback volume to a value between 0 and 38
  -s, --nosmart      do not use smart shuffle
  -n, --nochdir      do not change directory to this scripts directory first
  -l, --nolog        do not create a log file
  -f, --force        always rebuild database entries, do not re-use old ones
  -L, --logfile      set log file name

Must be called from the iPod's root directory. By default, the whole iPod is
searched for playable files, unless at least one DIRECTORY is specified.

 

I realize one thing

  Nothing will happen even if you said everything to some people. The best thing we can do is make ourselves county stronger. It's better than we tell other people the truth.

熬夜的习惯

自己经常说自己只有在半夜的时候才会真正冷静下来，想点比较有深度的东西，然后可以很冷静的做一些工作。突然发现这个习惯其实从小学就开始了。哈哈，惊讶吧，其实我自己都觉得惊讶。其实说起来有点丢人，因为你想啊，小学的时候半夜应该是睡觉的时候，我醒着干嘛？没干嘛，写作业。晚上想和别人玩。自己特别的嚣张，在学校老师布置完作业，大家上课的时候就在写。自己标榜自己上课只干上课时该做的事情，所以别人可以玩了，可是自己也想和别人一起玩。父母是不允许自己没写完作业就玩的。所以只好说自己作业写完了。然后，自己的房间是斜对着父母的房间的，如果半夜起来开台灯，父母就可以看到，肯定要被骂，所以就跑到厕所躲着，偷偷的写作业，半夜的时候。

所以到了现如今，好像还是如此。自己在家里宅了一天了，除了洗衣服，没干什么有用的事情，只好再次利用半夜的时间。不过现在自由了，哪怕不睡觉都没有人来管我，就只好标榜自己半夜的时候思路比较清晰。自欺欺人啊。不过，真的是自己上班的时候思路经常被打断，也是让我着实不爽的一件事情。当然了，另外就是，半夜的时候没有人在group或者bbs上灌水，所以这个时候也不需要特别的自制力了。说到底，自己是被自己害了。

困啊

呵，本来今天想在家里洗洗衣服，然后把上班时间欠GE公司的06年的测试报告补齐的。娘的，惊讶吧，06年的东西竟然还欠着人家的。唉，我也没办法，那个时间不是我在负责这件事情。反正衣服是洗了，但是活是基本上没干。人没精神。

听了快一天的艾尔文和花栗鼠的电影原声。人生是变调过的，因为说是花栗鼠唱的歌，当然不能跟普通人的一样了。。。。哈哈哈，电影原声，不如说是花栗鼠的专辑。蛮不错的。饿了，夜宵去。

好久没更新了

最近发生了一些很有戏剧性的东西。总之大体来说就是自己跟老板连着两天吵架，但是老板没说要把我开除或者辞掉，让我有点郁闷。不过也是意料之中。然后就是自己今天跟老板摊牌了。老子不做了。至于以后的事情，那就以后再说吧。不过有一点我很确认，就是自己该做的事情还是要做掉，那是我做人的准则。

另外，清明那天打电话给老妈的时候得知老妈生病住院了。我最近最担心的就是这个，心里一直有这个预感，早就有准备，但是真的发生的时候还是有点让我不知所措。好在不是什么大问题。嗯。。。。今天电话上听老妈一直在说让我不要牵挂，心里滋味，不好。

还有，就是自己在逐渐的恢复一些东西。又开始刷了，又开始做DV了。学校里终于有自己的好友也爱上极限运动了。赞美一下，昨天又做了一个很帅的摔的动作，有DV录像为证。不过就是可惜自己没心去亲自实现极限运动的梦了。

就这样吧，做个流水记述。最近可能智商又下降了不少，熬夜太多，不好。心情，一般，或许，重要的决定，该是时候了吧。
